With all eyes on Dior's first collection sans Galliano, did they deliver?
I couldn't see much consistency in this Dior collection apart from the loud colour.
I'm not opposed to bright colours, or clothing with a theatrical element, but this collection just didn't seem to have a story...

What do you think of it?

  1. I agree with you totally. There seems to be a mish mash of ideas, to real theme behind it except for chaos. Hmm..maybe that's what they're trying to achieve, after Galliano's departure.

  2. Thanks for the comment, Norlin. Yes, maybe the theme was chaos! Interesting to see what happens next.

  3. I agree with your best/worst list :)

I absolutely love the dramatic red of Gianbattista Valli, but the Dior collection was a major disappointment... There was no coherent story - clotheswise or even stylewise (hair and makeup). There were 4 or 5 different stories with contrasting ideas put together in one show and everything looked disorganized. It lacked the mystery, the edge, the color and the craziness of Galliano's previous collections. I only hope they'll be able to recover soon...

I just posted my comments on the show this morning. You can check them out if you want :)

  4. I totally agree with you! I saw the photos on London Vogue and didn't think there was cohesion amongst the collection. The pieces were nice, but together it wasn't delivering a story!

  6. I love the red! Nice to see it coming back - I'm a bit bored with the neons!
